Q-tips in a Jar Guess

I like to put Q-tips in a cute useable container and have guests guess amount of Q-tips (cotton buds / cotton swabs) in jar. The winner gets a prize but new Mom gets the container of Q-tips.
Suggestions:
Other items like cotton balls, cotton pads or baby safety pins could be used instead of cotton buds. Organic cotton buds, balls and pads are also available.
Important:
To keep these clean and hygienic avoid unnecessary handling. It's best to count them as they are put into the container, then write the number of items on a small clean piece of paper, fold the paper several times and place under the lid or top of the container.
